August 12, 2014 (Boston, MA)-- Ingrid Martin helped Joseph Donovan recapture his life outside of prison bars. Mr. Donovan spent more than half of his life in prison for throwing a punch that lead to a Cambridge murder conviction. Attorney Martin represented Donovan in a move to release him after a 22-year prison stay, which started when he was just 17 years old. In a 6-0 vote, the Massachusetts Parole Board announced that the now 38-year old Donovan should be released after participating in a 6 month rehabilitative program and 1 year lower level security prison stay. Ingrid Martin reflects upon the case: “I am so pleased with this great outcome. We all agree that 22 years was more than enough time for Mr. Donovan to serve. I look forward to seeing him rejoin society and his family as a free man.”
